SETTING

The Westin Resort & Spa is situated about 25 kilometres from Langkawi International Airport on the South-Western coastline of Langkawi Island. With 104 acres of jungle-clad hill on one side and 500 metres of private beach on the other side the resort is popular amongst families, leisure and business travellers.

FACILITIES

The Westin Resort & Spa offers 200 air-conditioned guestrooms and suites, spread out on four-stories. Each of the rooms is designed and furnished in comfortable, traditional Malaysian style and fitted with either king- or twin-size beds. Most guestrooms feature private balconies with chairs and table and magnificent ocean or garden views and there are several non-smoking rooms available. A five-bedroom Jentayu Villa offers a beachfront location, private pool and personalized butler service.

The business centre provides four PC's with internet connection and printer as well as a coffee machine. In the year 2006 there will also be a High-speed WLAN-connection available. On-site facilities and equipment for the most high-tech presentation standards for groups of any number from 10 to 400 are also at call according to need.

The Westin Resort & Spa provides three beautiful swimming pools, the Amoeba-shaped adult pool, children's splash pool and ocean pool overlooking the ocean. Modern fitness and recreational facilities like a health club offering aerobics classes, gymnasium, Jacuzzi and sauna, four flood lit tennis courts and two squash courts are at call for the sporty active guest. At the beach there are also water sports facilities like windsurfing, sailing and canoeing ready for use and for indoor fun the recreation centre offers table tennis, pool table, darts and board games. The spa and its beauty therapists will soothe the body after a workout or to much sun. Children care and an excellent daily activity programme is offered by the hotel recreation team.

The resort has two international-standard restaurants, exclusive dining options including the Sambar Ria, serving fusion food in a casual ocean side setting, the Grove Restaurant featuring regional and international cuisine as well as the Bayu Lounge and Someplace Else featuring live entertainment and deemed as the “most happening” nightspot on the island.

ROOM TYPES

On four-stories, The Westin Resort & Spa offers 200 air-conditioned guestrooms and suites. Each of them furnished with comfortable tropical style accessories, spacious bathrooms and en suit facilities. Most of the guestrooms feature private balconies or terraces affording magnificent garden or ocean view.

SUPERIOR ROOMS

Spacious rooms with a private garden view, combined shower/bath. Total room size is 40 square metres.

GARDEN VIEW ROOMS

Garden View Rooms provide either a picturesque garden view or tropical forest view. The total room size is 52 square metres and each room offers a spacious balcony, bathroom with separate bathtub and shower as well as shutters between the bathroom and bedroom area. The bedroom is furnished with either king- or twin bed.

SEA VIEW ROOMS

The rooms provide a spectacular sea view from a spacious balcony. On a total room size of 52 square metres, each room offers a bathroom with separate bathtub and shower as well as shutters between the bathroom and bedroom area. The bedroom is furnished with either king- or twin bed.

SEA FACING ROOMS

The Sea Facing Rooms have a direct view of the landscaped gardens, swimming pool and the Andaman Sea. They provide a spacious balcony and a big bathroom and shower on an altogether room size of 48 square metres.

EXECUTIVE SUITE

These Executive Suites offer guests a magnificent view out to the Andaman Sea from an oversized balcony. They provide a spacious bedroom with a King size bed, one separate lounge and a spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and shower as well as a walk-in wardrobe on a total room size of 151 square metres.

PREMIER SUITE

With total room size of 289 square metres, the Premier Suite features two bedrooms with either one king or two queen sized beds, a spacious terrace with magnificent ocean front views a separate dining and lounge room. It also offers a walk-in wardrobe and an extensive bathroom with Jacuzzi.

ROYAL SUITE

The Royal suite consists of two inter-connecting deluxe bedroom suites with ocean front views, separate dining and living rooms, walk-in wardrobe as well as a pantry with full size refrigerator and microwave. The large bathroom features a Jacuzzi. The total size of the room is 369 metres.

JENTAYU VILLA

A secluded 5-bedroom villa located in a private area of the resort grounds, featuring extravagantly spacious living areas, private swimming pool, Zen-inspired reflection pools and a private beach. Nestled in a tropical garden landscape, framed by the lush green rainforest with a stunning view out to the Andaman Sea, Jentayu Villa is the perfect choice for an exclusive luxury retreat, a romantic tropical wedding and honeymoon, or an small executive meeting.

The 4 spacious Grand Bedrooms all feature ensuite bathrooms and Asian-style day beds, which make ideal extra beds for children; while the Master Suite features an extravagant bathroom with a Jacuzzi offering a magnificent ocean view, separate lounge and spacious bedroom with breath-taking views.

The 154 square metre living/dining area has glass walls, affording a view out to the beach and the Andaman Sea – both just a few steps away. This flexible space is equally suitable as a meeting venue for Executive Meetings.

SAMBAR RIA

Located next to the beach, this open air restaurants is named after a native species of bird with blue and yellow coloring. Event the dining ware reflects the blue & Yellow color scheme of its namesake. Light Mediterranean influence-cuisine and oven baked pizza are served amidst birdcalls during lunch. In the evening, the table cloths are brought out, instantly converting the ambience into elegant dining with mouth watering seafood and grilled steaks done in Asian Fusion Style - a detectable marriage of asian ingredients with Western-style cooking.

THE GROVE

Breakfast and dinned are served under a covered terrace with a picture square view of the ocean. With an open kitchen concept, The Grove offers an international buffet breakfast and diversed themed buffet dinner which change daily. Casual dinning in the restaurant is enhanced by the mix of bamboo blinds, wooden sliding windows and the confort of rattan and teak furniture. For dinner, table are set with linen table cloths for more elegant dinning.
