THE ANDAMAN

SETTING

The Andaman Langkawi is a tropical paradise, situated in the middle of an ancient tropical rainforest, about 32 km north from the Island's international airport. It is placed between the legendary Matchincang Mountain and the peaceful Andaman sea and it offers the perfect holiday for the whole family.

One unforgettable thing about the Andaman is the fact that nature is so close at hand. Step out of your room and you can see monkeys, hornbills and different types of birds and wildlife, and around the hotel, you can watch monitor lizards ploading across your path or sea otters splashing in the bay. The evening flight performances by flying squirrels and Colugos are a special attraction.

FACILITIES

The resort has a magnificent lagoon-style swimming pool next to the beach.- interspersed with islands of tall rainforest trees and featuring a waterslide for the young and young-at-heart. Other facilities include a Kids Club, a Billiards and Games Room, a fitness centre and the Spa nestled on the side of a hill with spectacular views. Services include jungle treks, nature walks, beach volleyball and mountain bikes for hire.

An exclusive white sandy beach stretches along the 1.5 km Datai bay. Complete non-motorised water-sports facilities include snorkelling, windsurfing and sailing. An efficient speedboat whisks guests out to Anak Datai island for picnics and chartered boats can be arranged to island hopping, scuba diving and sunset cruises with cocktails on board.

The Golf club, Datai Bay, with its 18-hole championship golf course, is conveniently located adjacent to the hotel. This beautifully landscaped course offers a unique golfing experience combining sea, forest and the surrounding mountain range. Two-lighted tennis courts are also available for hire at the golf course.

The Andaman is ideal for conventions and conferences, with a Grand Ballroom which can accommodate 400 guests for sit-down dinners, six meeting rooms handling 50 persons each and a covered foyer for cocktails and BBQs. The surrounding rainforest and beach area is ideal for incentive theme nights with bonfires or royal Malaysian processions.

ROOM TYPES

The resort features 187 rooms of different sizes and price range. Each of the rooms is furnished with either king or a twin bed, writing desk and chair as well as individually controlled air conditioning and ceiling fan. A room save and IDD telephone lines are also standard. The mini-bar provides every possible drink including free mineral water, coffee and tea-making facilities as well as different kinds of chocolates and cookies.

DELUXE RAINFOREST / SEA VIEW

These rooms offer a choice of rainforest or sea-facing views. They provide King or Twin beds on a smaller scale ideal for couples or small families. The bathroom includes a bathtub and a shower. Each room has air conditioner as well as a fan.

SPA & MASSAGE

The Spa has three villas; two duplex-style Rainforest Villa overlook the Andaman Sea and includes: two massage beds on each level, large bathtub, garden shower and relaxation terrace.

The very private Sari Villa offers more lavish facilities, including a large jacuzzi, garden-shower and relaxation terrace. Our Traditional Asian Body treatments start with a relaxing Footbath, followed by your choice of body polish. Relax in a floral bath before your massage.

TRADITIONAL ASIAN BODY TREATMENT

Our Traditional Asian Body treatments start with an Aromatherapy Footbath followed by your choice of Javanese Lulur, Kimiri Nut Scrub, Mud and Flower Body Pack, Mocha Bean Scrub. Relax and soak in a warm Floral bath followed by a Traditional Balinese or Aromatherapy Massage.

MASSAGE

Essential oils are blended with Nourishing Soyabean and Almond Oil with Andaman's signature blend of essential oils. Choose from Sweet Blossom, Tropical Forest, Ocean Energy or Andaman Spice.

FACE CARE

Flowers, spices, herbs and leaves have been used in Indonesia for generations for their beautifying and healing qualities. Our facial ingredients are prepared fresh daily. Cucumber Tonic, Kemiri Peel, Honey Cleanser and Flower and Fruit masks are combined to cleanse, exfoliate, balance and relax.

Body waxing, manicure, pedicure and hair and scalp treatment are also available.

THE GULAI HOUSE

Located 300 meters away from the hotel building into the heart of rainforest experience of walking over an old Kampung "Titi Bridge" and lit pathway with the sound of the jungle and the ocean in the background on the way to this very unique Malay traditional "Kampung Style" restaurant. Open-air Malay House style with Malay and Indian cuisine.

Two styles of seating, either Nobat - where you can experience dining by sitting on the floor and normal dining table. Different daily Chef Specials are offered, as well as Set Menus and an extensive a-la-carte menu. Malay cultural show featuring traditional musicians and dances are performed every Sunday.

THE RESTAURANT

Continental cuisine or Asian specialities are served in an elegant but relaxed atmosphere. Table d'hote menu is available for creating your own set menu. Daily changing Chef Specials are offered. The Restaurant has a fully air-condition wine cellar with an extensive selection. Humidor cabinet with large choice of Cuban, Dominican, Honduran and Jamaican cigars are available.

THE POOLSIDE TERRACE

Relaxed and casual restaurant next to the poolside and overlooking the beachfront. Wood-fired pizza, complemented with Homemade desserts. Favourite cocktails, mocktails and wines are available from our extensive beverage and wine list.

THE BEACH BAR

Located next to the beach and with spectacular views of our panoramic Datai Bay and The Andaman Sea. The Bar serves favourite cocktails and mocktails , a light snack menu, extensive wines from the list and cigars for your relaxation and leisure. An ideal place to watch beautiful sunsets while having drinks and listening to some soothing light jazz.

LOBBY LOUNGE

Located on the main lobby level 3, the open-air lounge with views of the swimming pool and the rainforest canopy, is an ideal place for enjoying your favourite cocktail or a glass of wine. A light snack menu is available. Relax and enjoy the entertainment of our resident 4-piece band, performing light pop and jazz for your listening pleasure.

THE JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Located on ground floor Level 1, overlooking the swimming pool, the restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine, including favourites like Sushi, Sashimi or Tempura. An extensive A-la-carte menu is available. Two Teppanyaki counters for live cooking, as well as two separate, private Titami rooms for a traditional way of Japanese dining. Gozen and Andaman Gozen Set Menus are offered.

A 50% charge will be levied on late check out after 12:00 pm and before 6:00 pm and a full day charge for check out after 6:00pm. Extended check out time is subject to availability.

BABY SITTING

Baby sitting can be arranged through our Reception. 12 hours advance reservation is required.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation and vehicle rental can be arranged through our Concierge. Advance reservation is recommended. 6:00 am 12:00 midnight daily. Except Friday and Saturday which is until 1:00 am. Minimum rental charge is one day 24 hours. Extra hours are charged at 1/6 of the applicable daily rate to the maximum of six hours, thereafter a full day rate and CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) will be charged.
