SETTING

The Tanjung Rhu Resort, a scenic and untouched enclave nestled in the shade of luxuriant casuarinas trees. A deluxe resort fringing the long, magnificent bay that leads to the clear, cool waters of the calm Andaman Sea.

Do not let the concrete apartment tenements fool you. Tanjung Rhu is one of the nicest resorts on the island - style, elegance and absolute seclusion.

The resort is spread over 30 acres, with a 2.5 km stretch of private beach. Remote is an understatement: there is no immediate neighbor for miles, but a 30-40 minute car ride should get you to the airport or to town.

FACILITIES

Two magnificently styled pools, one of which is 60 metres long and the other is a seawater pool with a sand bottom and surrounded by and artificial beach. An extensive Spa with a gym and yoga facilities, two tennis-courts and water sports prospects as well as an archery range are options to choose from.

A library with internet connection and live music entertainment twice a day, as well as games facilities with pool tables darts etc. and a kids-club for children make the Tanjung Rhu the perfect place for families.

With 80 per cent of its area remaining under lush vegetation, Tanjung Rhu's fascinating landscape of mangroves, waterways, limestone crags and sandy beaches present the visitor with a kaleidoscope of fauna and flora. Guides from the Tanjung Rhu Resort - trained by a naturalist - provide fascinating insight into the wildlife to be found in the area.

Tanjung Rhu Resort offers an all inclusive package. It includes all non alcoholic beverages, all meals in any of the Food and Beverage outlets including in-room dining, barbecue on the beach, the use of all non motorised water-sports facilities as well as return transfer by chauffeur-driven Jaguar from Langkawi International Airport.

ROOM TYPES

Tanjung Rhu Resort is the private hideaway with 135 luxury suites. It offers the choice between four elegant types with sea, garden or pool views. Each suit is designed and furnished in the Asian Eastern style, accentuated with timber floors and large windows to make the rooms very bright and airy.

DAMAI

The 50 sqare metre suite is equipped with double beds and a living room area designed in earth coloured tones and pure Indian cotton fabrics used for the upholstery and the drapes. The bathroom features a large bathtub, separate shower and twin marble vanities. All the rooms are facing the courtyard.

CAHAYA

The 60 square metres Cahaya suite is a mixture between solitude and luxury and it offers a small balcony with a relaxing garden view. The oversized bathroom is equipped with a large bathtub, twin marble vanities and separate shower and toilet.

BAYU SURIA

Bayu Suria suite offers 80 square metres of space and the guest has a choice between garden or pool view. It features a big bedroom-lounge area as well as a separate lounge area, an extensive bathroom and a large dressing area. The design is the same as in the other rooms Asian-Eastern style in earthen tones. The suite is fully equipped with dataport facilities.

BAYU SENJA

Bayu Senja suite offers 80 square metres of space with magnificent sea view. It features a big bedroom-lounge area as well as a separate lounge area, an extensive bathroom and a large dressing area. The design is the same as in the other rooms Asian-Eastern style in earthen tones. The suite is fully equipped with dataport facilities.

ANJUNG

This 100 square metre room is the largest suite the Tanjung Rhu has to offer. Guests have the option to choose from sea, pool or garden view with the additional luxury of an in-room Jacuzzi. The room features a bedroom-living area, an extra lounge with a plasma TV and an extensive bathroom with twin marble vanities. The suite is fully equipped with dataport facilities.

JIVA RHU

The JivaRhu Spa adds yet another addition to the experience at Tanjung Rhu Resort. Designed to pamper and assuage the five senses, the spa has been conceptualized and developed in detail to rejuvenate the mind and body. The JivaRhu Spa set amidst very luscious natural vegetation offers stunning views of the sea and vegetation that would make any visitor feel relaxed and tranquil.

Each treatment room is equipped with a distinctive soothing natural sounds to enhance the experience of the treatment. No two treatment rooms offer the same experience. The aromatic essence of each room is also controlled to give a definitive character to the room. All oils or rubs are specially blended for the resort to ensure they meet the highest standards in quality and for health. The "spa experience" services are designed to provide the visitor/guest a complete and experiential experience.

The JivaRhu Spa is operated by Tanjung Rhu Resort with specialist professionals providing technical input in treatments, juice therapy and oils. All guests and visitors will be given a brief description of spas and their benefits and how to use and enjoy the spa facilities at Tanjung Rhu Resort.

Consultation on the choice of treatment and nuances found in each treatment pertinent to the individual's desire will also be provided to the uninitiated by a specialist.

WINING & DINING

Four restaurants offer different dining experiences - all are beachfront with a delightful view of the Cape anytime of the day.

THE RHU

A restaurant that embodies the grace and elegance of the casuarinas tree. This fine-dining restaurant with air-conditioned and alfresco sections - serving East-meets-West seafood cuisine, amidst the soft strains of a serenading string quartet.

SANDS

Sands is an alfresco casual all-day dining restaurant offering local and western fare. This beachfront restaurant with ponds and ceiling fans, serves a variety of Malaysian and Western cuisine. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

SAFFRON

This popular Eastern flavouring lives up to its name at this restaurant. This Mediterranean Restaurant is a popular spot any time of the day. Saffron also has an alfresco section with an unencumbered view of Tanjung Rhu's stunning sunsets.

BBQ DINNER ON THE BEACH

Imagine, enjoying a romantic evening with your loved one, sipping champagne while watching the sun slowly setting across the far horizon, as far as the eye can see. The moon and star will then appear subtly to welcome the clear evening sky.

It is then our colleague, your private waiter, begins his task of serving our highly recommended, combination of sumptuous, delicious, mouthwatering and exotic selection of a Private Barbeque Dinner on a stretch of 2.5 km of white sandy beach meant for just the two of you.
