SETTING

Nestled between a private beach and 19 acres of a million year old virgin tropical rainforest, the Mutiara Burau Beach Resort is located between the scenic Burau Bay and Pantai Kok and the foothills of Mount Mat Cincang. Only 15 minutes from Langkawi airport and 40 minutes from Kuah Jetty, the saying fun in the sun takes on a new meaning.

While it is impossible to build a resort and not make some impact upon the environment, every effort has been made to create a resort that blends harmoniously into its natural setting. All plants and animals on the property are protected and many species can be found in the forests, adjoining mangroves and along the beachfront. Monkeys live in the trees, the flying colugo makes it home here and hornbills soar overhead.

The grassy areas of the resort are the best location in the world to see the rainbow lizard! Guests are encouraged to discover and learn from nature while at the resort and our staff are pleased to help guests “open their eyes” to the many natural assets of Burau Bay.

BANQUET & MEETING FACILITIES

Dewan Impian: 13.6 x 7.6-sq. m in size and catering for up to 120 people. It can be divided into two smaller rooms, each catering for up to 50 and 70 people, respectively.

Dewan Perdana: 9.6 x 5.8 sq. m in size for up to 30 people.
Spacious landscaped grounds suitable for barbecues and theme parties.

ADVENTURE & MOTIVATIONAL CAMPS

Mutiara Burau Bay beach resort offers excellent facilities for adventure and motivational camps as a camp within a resort concept. While it is located in the resort grounds, it is situated in its own isolated area away from resort guests. Dormitory accommodation for 84 people makes this an ideal centre for groups and children. Those staying here have access to the beach facilities at the resort. It has been designed and built to international standards and offers outdoor adventure and educational activities for studies on wetlands, rainforests and team building. The camp is staffed by trained professionals who assist group leaders in conducting their activities. In addition to the dormitories, there is a large communal dining area and cafeteria, surah and showers and toilets.

ROOM TYPES

The resort features 150 rooms of different sizes and price range. Each of the rooms is furnished with either king or a twin bed, writing desk and chair as well as individually controlled air conditioning and ceiling fan. Room safe and IDD telephone lines are also standard. The mini-bar provides every possible drink including free mineral water, free coffee and tea-making facilities as well as different kinds of chocolates and cookies.

RUN OF THE HOUSE

These cabanas offer a choice of garden- or sea-view. They provide double beds and a small sitting room as well as a small patio equipped with table and chairs and air-conditioning in every room.

FAMILY CABANA

The family cabana in the Mutiara Burau Bay offers either garden- or sea view. It is equipped with a King sized bed, bathroom with a shower and a comfortably sized living room with a sofa that can be turned into a small double bed and all the rooms have Air-conditioning as well as a small terrace with two chairs and a small table.

WINING & DINING

SERI MUTIARA RESTAURANT

The Seri Mutiara Restaurant serves a wide selection of local specialties and international dishes. The casual atmosphere with excellent views of the ocean and swimming pool make dining a relaxing experience. The restaurant seats 100 people indoors and 50 people on the open terrace. It opens daily from 7 am to 11 pm.

OYSTER LOUNGE

The Oyster Lounge is adjacent to the lobby, offering cocktails served in a laidback atmosphere. Every evening it offers entertainment with a life band to complements the relaxed ambience. It seats 60 people and the opening hours are from 10 am to 1 am.

SEASHELL BEACH CAFE

The Seashell Beach Cafe is a scenic retreat to unwind and relax with delicious Tex Mex cuisine and thirst quencher by the beachfront. It seats 60 people by the beach and opens from 12 noon to 1 am. The cafe probably one of Asia's best with great food, relaxed ambience, fantastic music and the best views on Langkawi. It also has Malaysians biggest Guitar on display.
