The home is raised above the ground on posts and beams. This creates a large shaded area below which makes the most of cool hilltop breezes. This area houses the dining pavilion where you will return to enjoy dinner.

A tour of the interior includes explanation of many Malay cultural influences which have defined traditional Malay architecture.

On to the kitchen, where the fun begins. All guests participate in the preparation of a multi-course Malay meal using traditional recipes and techniques. Each dish is carefully explained, including the herbs and spices used and alternative ingredients you can use if they are difficult to find back home.

A free flow of wine and drinks maintains a lively ambience while each dish is prepared in turn and set to cook. Herbs and spicing are adjusted to your taste.

When all is done you return to the dining pavilion below the house for a large and superb meal. Settled in around the long table, there is time to reflect on the flavors and wonders of each dish. Various wines are served to complement the meal.

After a truly unique Malaysian dinner party which you have helped to prepared, you revert to the Lighthouse for coffee and liqueurs on the beach.
